Löjtnant Klas Andersson checked his watch and then heard the “pop, pop, pop” of the preliminary bombardment.
“Right on time… now the 104s should start attacking from the south.”
Andersson saw the Soviets slewing their turrets to the south. The older Centurions had borne the brunt of the fighting, but the Soviets had grown accustomed to their flanking tactics. He could see a few T-72Bs take hits, but none appeared to be knocked out. However, while a few tanks were still pointed in his direction, most were now reacting to the southern threat.
“Our turn…” Andersson mused. He keyed his radio, “second platoon, move up once we hit the tanks facing us.”
Andersson quickly assessed the situation, at least 20 T-72B tanks in the field, with roughly 14 of them focused on the 104s to the south. His company of twelve tanks would first take out the six watching tanks from the west.
He assigned the targets by platoon.
Andersson keyed the radio again, “All tanks, open fire!”
The 105mm gun of the S tank roared to life causing the entire vehicle to shudder. Andersson could see that four of the T-72s had brewed up, but the others were now starting to fire in this direction.
“Second platoon move up, first and third platoons provide covering fire.”
The three S-tanks from second platoon darted from their prepared cover to another copse of trees roughly 100 metres to the northeast. As expected, the Soviets focused their attention on the visible targets, and began to manoeuvre across the open terrain. One of the tanks of second platoon was hit, but the suspension appeared to absorb most of the shot. The tank didn’t brew up, but the crew bailed out.
Nilsson, and the rest of first and third platoons had not been idle, though. Two more T-72Bs were burning.
Andersson looked south where several smoke plumes grew on the horizon, “It looks like the 104s aren’t making much headway.” He keyed the radio again, “third platoon, second platoon, cover fire while first advances.”
Andersson’s platoon made a mad dash for a small group of trees and buildings to engage the Soviets.

The S-tanks are easy kits to complete, being comprised of only 12 parts, with little cleanup of parts required. I am finishing up assembly now and am looking forward to painting them with the 4 color Swedish Army paint scheme.
My only complaint is that FOW does not provide you with any paint scheme or codes, instead referring you to a link on their site with the expectation that you will purchase their "Colors of War" painting guide.
With some research on line I chose these Vallejo colors: Luftwaffe Camo Green 823, Black Grey 862 , Flat Green 968 and Beige Brown 875.
